The RG170R is an RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 2002. It had a three year production run.

The RG170R features an agathis or basswood body bolted to a maple neck with a 24-fret maple fingerboard with black dot position markers. Components include a synchronized tremolo bridge and Ibanez Powersound pickups in an HSH configuration.

The RG170DX is a similar model with sharktooth position markers while the RG170 has a maple fretboard.
