The RG1708 is an RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 1997. It was made in Japan by FujiGen as part of the high-end J Custom line.

The RG1708 features a mahogany body with a 4mm thick AAA flame maple top bolted to a maple neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with offset dot position markers. Components include DiMarzio pickups with two humbuckers flanking a single-coil, a locking nut, a Lo Pro Edge double locking tremolo bridge and Gotoh tuning machines.

The RG1608 is a similar model with a thicker top and different pickups. The RG1908 is a similar model with a quilted maple top and maple fretboard, gold hardware and a different bridge pickup.

The RG1708 was discontinued after just a single year.
