The RG15271 is a hard-tail seven string RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 2003 as a replacement for the RG7621. It was made in Japan by FujiGen as part of the upscale Prestige line.
The RG15271 features a basswood body bolted to a maple and bubinga Ultra Prestige neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with dot position markers. Components include a pair of Ibanez Vintage humbucking pickups and a hard-tail bridge.
For 2005 several changes were made including a new maple and wenge neck, a new bridge and different hardware color and fretboard inlays.
The RG1527 is a similar model with a double locking tremolo.
The RG15271 was offered only in Japan and was discontinued after 2006.
