The RG1003 is a Roadstar II series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 1986. The Roadstar II series would eventually become known as the RG series.
Despite the RG name, the RG1003 has the rounded-edge body style and swoopy, rounded headstock of the older Roadstar II style. It is one of a small handful of RG models with a triple single-coil pickup configuration. It has a tone chamber routed out of the body under the pickguard.
The RG1003 features an ash body with a flame maple top bolted to a maple neck with a 24-fret ebony fingerboard with dot position markers. Components include three Ibanez Lo-ZS active single coil pickups and a Powerocker tremolo bridge.
The RG1200 is a similar model with a humbucker at the bridge and an Edge tremolo.
The RG1003 was offered only in Japan and was discontinued after 1987.
