The RG-GOLD2 is an RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 1999. It is made in Japan by FujiGen as part of the high end J Custom line.
The RG-GOLD2 features an ash body with flying geese images and 18K gold leaf bolted to a maple neck with a bubinga stripe a 24-fret dark rosewood fingerboard with offset gold dot position markers at the twelfth fret. Components include DiMarzio pickups with a pair of humbuckers flanking a single-coil, a gold Lo-Pro Edge double locking tremolo bridge with a locking nut and gold Gotoh tuning machines.
The RG-GOLD1 is a nearly identical model which lacks the Cranes (bird overlays) on the top. The RG1880 is a similar model with a mahogany body and obviously without the gold foil.
The RG-GOLD2 was produced in small numbers only in 1999.
