The RD828LE was a four-string Roadbass series solid-body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez for 1988. It was made in Japan by FujiGen.
Roadbass series bodies evolved since the previous year. The square profile with a hard edge and pointy headstock are roughly shaped after an introduced year earlier RG series.
The RD828LE features a double-cutaway basswood body bolted to a maple neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with sharktooth inlays and a matching headstock. Components include Ibanez Regulated LO-Z P/J pickups, an Accu-cast BII fixed bridge with 19mm string spacing, chrome hardware and Gotoh tuning machines.
The RD727 and RD909 are similar models with different pickup configurations. RD808LE is a related model with fingerboard pearl dot inlays.
