The RD808LE was a four-string Roadbass series solid-body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez for 1988. It was made in Japan by FujiGen.
Roadbass series bodies evolved since the previous year. The square profile with hard edge and pointy headstock are roughly shaped after an introduced year earlier RG series.
The RD808LE features a double-cutaway basswood body bolted to a maple neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot inlays and a black headstock. Components include a Lo-P and Lo-J active pickups with a EQ-BII circuit, an Accu-cast BII fixed bridge with 19mm string spacing, chrome hardware and Gotoh tuning machines.
The RD606 and RD707 are similar models with different pickup configurations. RD828LE is a related model with sharktooth inlays on the neck.
