The RD707 is a Roadbass series solid-body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez for 1988. It was made in Japan by FujiGen.
Roadbass series bodies evolved since the previous year. The hard-edged square profile and pointed head are roughly in shape to the RG series introduced a year earlier.
The RD707 features a double-cutaway basswood body bolted to a maple neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with white dot position markers and a black headstock. Components include a P50 and J50 pickups passive pickups, an Accu-cast BII fixed bridge with 19mm string spacing, a plastic nut, chrome hardware and Gotoh tuning machines.
The RD707F is fret-less version. The RD606 and RD808LE are similar models with different pickup configurations. The RD727 is basically the same model with Sharktooth inlays. The RB707E is a predecessor to RD707 with slightly different and more rounded body shape.
