The RD606 was a four-string Roadbass series solid-body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez in 1988. It was made in Japan by FujuGen.
Roadbass series bodies evolved since the previous year. The square profile with hard edge and pointy headstock are roughly shaped after an introduced year earlier RG series.
The RD606 features a double-cutaway basswood body bolted to a maple neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with white dot position markers and a black headstock. Components include a single P50 precition pickup, an Accu-cast BII fixed bridge with 19mm string spacing, chrome hardware and Gotoh tuning machines.
The RD707 and RD808LE are similar models with different pickup configurations. RB707E is a predecessor to RD707 with slightly different and more rounded body shape.
