More about the APEX series

The APEX series is a signature line of seven-string guitars created by Ibanez for Korn's guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer. They are newer and modified versions of the original Korn signature model, the K7.

History

The APEX1 was released in 2007. It has a mahogany RG-style body and comes in a unique textured Biker's Black finish. The APEX2 is a more affordable version of the APEX1. They each come factory tuned to Korn's signature tuning: A,D,G,C,F,A,D. These guitars are known for producing a deep metallic sound, due to the tuning for Munky's low-end crunch. (more...)
