The PL5050 is a Pro Line series solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez for 1986. It was produced in Japan by FujiGen.
The PL5050 features a double-cutaway alder body bolted to a maple neck with a 24-fret ebony fingerboard with pearl dot position markers, side dots, a graphite nut and a black headstock. Components include a pair of Ibanez LO-B pickup's on the neck and bridge positions with a 2-band EQ, an Accu-cast B II solid bridge with 19mm string spacing, Ibanez Smooth Tuner BII machine heads and black hardware.
The PL4040 is a related model with basswood body, rosewood fingerboard and a PJ pickup configuration.
