2009 PIB1 BK
PIB1 Black Red copyright sprite

The PIB1 is a five string solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez for 2009. It is the initial signature model for Swedish bassist Peter Iwers. It was produced in Indonesia.

The PIB1 features a Soundgear series double-cutaway soft maple body with a black finish with a signature graphic overlay. This body is bolted to a maple and bubinga neck with a 24 fret rosewood fingerboard with offset dot position markers starting at the twelfth fret. Components include a pair of Bartolini Custom passive humbucking bass pickups with a VM-3 HQ preamp, a set of individually mounted Mono-rail IV bridges with a 16.5mm string spacing, a plastic nut and Gotoh tuners. The only control is a single volume.

The PIB1 was discontinued after 2010 and replaced by the PIB2 which is similar except for its Pearl White finish.
