The PGMM31 is a PGM series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 2017. It is a signature model of American guitarist Paul Gilbert and is the first short-scale miKro signature model produced for Gilbert. It is produced in China.
The PGMM31 features a poplar body bolted to a 22.2" scale maple neck with a reversed headstock and a 24-fret maple fretboard with black dot position markers. Components include dual Ibanez Infinity R humbucking pickups and a fixed bridge.
As with the other Paul Gilbert signature models, the PGMM31 features painted on "f holes" to help camouflage the controls, which consist of only a master volume and a 3-way lever pickup selector. For 2019 the 3-way switch was replaced with a 5-way offering coil-split options in positions 2 & 4.
The PGMM21 is a similar model with a treated New Zealand pine or purpleheart fretboard. The PGMM11 is a similar model with a basswood body and jatoba fretboard. The PSM10 is a related Iceman-style miKro-scale signature model for Paul Stanley which was introduced concurrently with the PGMM31.
