The PF5L is a Performance series left-handed acoustic guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 1993. It was produced in South Korea. But production moved to China in 2002.
The PF5L features a dreadnought body with spruce top on mahogany back and sides with a black and white binding. The round soundhole has a black and white multi-purfling rosette ring and a black pickguard. The maple neck has a 20-fret rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot position markers with a custom inlay at 12-fret and a matching headstock. Components include a compensated plastic saddle in a rosewood bridge with white bridge pins, a plastic nut, and chrome covered die-cast tuning machines.
For 1994 the body material was changed to nato wood and the neck to mahogany. By 1996 the material used for the body returned to mahogany. For 2003 a special design rosette was added. For 2005 the tuning machine were changed to gold plated die-cast.
The PF5 is a right-handed version. The PF512 is a related 12-string model. The PF5CE is an electric/ acoustic model w/ cutaway and piezo pickup.
