The PF5CE is a Performance series acoustic/ electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 1993. It was made in South Korea but production moved to China in 2000.
The PF10CE features a dreadnought body with a venetian cutaway and a laminated spruce top on mahogany back and sides with a high gloss finish. The round soundhole has a black & white acrylic rosette and a black pickguard. The maple neck has a 20-fret rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot position markers. Components include a compensated plastic saddle in a rosewood bridge with white bridge pins, a plastic nut, and Ibanez chrome die-cast tuning machines. Electronics consist of an Ibanez piezo pickup with volume and tone controls.
For 1994 the neck material was changed to mahogany and the body to nato wood. For 1995 the bridge pins were changed to black. For 1998 the electronics were updated with an AEQ30 "APC-PRO" active 3-band equalizer. For 2000 the body material was changed to mahogany and the electronics were updated with a Fishman AEQ40 4-band equalizer preamp. For 2003 a special rosette design was added.
The PF5 is a related acoustic model missing the cutaway and the piezo pickup.
