The RT650 is one of my favorites. I've got a green one that I plan on holding on to for a long time. The Viper neck feels great to me and I appreciate the simplicity of the synchronized trem as I'm not a huge whammy guy.
The stock trem is fine, but nothing special. Mine didn't come with a trem arm, so rather than track one of those down, I replaced it with a Wilkinson trem. I like the looks of the Wilkinson better, but I'm pretty sure its not a big upgrade in terms of functionality.
The V7/V8 pickups are solid stock pickups, although I've replaced mine with Duncans.
If the guitar feels good to you (particularly the neck) and it's in good shape, you really can't go wrong. Good condition RTs are getting harder and harder to come by and that's reflected in the prices they're going for.
