The MTM2 is an MTM series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 2007. It is a signature model of Mick Thomson, guitarist for American band Slipknot. It was made in Indonesia.
The MTM2 has an RG-style mahogany body, a painted Wizard II neck with reversed headstock, dual humbucking pickups and a Fixed Edge III bridge.
It was introduced in 2007 as a mass-market version of the MTM1, which had been introduced in 2006. For 2010, a white version of the MTM2 was added to the lineup. Also in 2010 the passive Ibanez Vintage pickups were replaced with Duncan Designed HB-105MT active humbuckers, which are Ibanez produced versions of the Seymour Duncan Blackouts EMTY Mick Thomson signature pickups.
The MTM2 was discontinued after 2011, but a similar version was released in 2014 as the MTM20.
