The MSM1 is a solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in late 2016. It is a signature model of Italian progressive metal/ instrumental rock guitarist Marco Sfogli. It is part of the Premium line which is handcrafted in Indonesia.
The MSM1 features a tineo top on an American basswood body bolted to a wenge and bubinga custom neck with a 24-fret wenge fingerboard with offset mother of pearl dot position markers. Components include dual DiMarzio humbucking pickups, a non-locking SynchroniZR synchronized tremolo bridge with a removable ZPS FX tuning stabilizer, Gotoh locking tuning machines and a teflon-impregnated Graph Tech nut.
For 2018 the wenge fretboard was replaced by panga panga and the wenge and bubinga neck was replaced by panga panga and purpleheart reinforced with titanium rods.
The MSM1 was discontinued after 2018 and replaced by the MSM100 which is based on the AZ series.
