The MRG17 is an RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 2021. It is made in Japan by FujiGen as a spot model for sale exclusively by Japanese retailer Kurosawa Gakki. It is part of the high-end J Custom line and is a variant of the RG8520.
The MRG17 is the 17th original model made for Kurosawa by Ibanez.
The MRG17 features a 4mm thick flamed maple top with natural binding on an ash body bolted to a maple and wenge neck with VelveTouch finish and a selected ebony fingerboard with flame maple binding and Tree of Life inlays. Components include a Lo-Pro Edge double locking tremolo bridge, a pair of DiMarzio humbucking pickups with a mini-toggle coil split switch, Gotoh SG381 tuning machines and Gotoh locking strap pins.
The MRG17 was limited to a production of just six units.
