The MDB3 is a solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez for 2013. It is the third signature model for American bassist Mike D'Antonio who is best known for his work with the metalcore band Killswitch Engage. It was made in Indonesia.
The MDB3 replaced the SRX-derived MDB2. This model features a Destroyer series mahogany body bolted to a maple neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with a seven pointed star logo at the twelfth fret. Components include a pair of Seymour Duncan passive bass pickups with a J-bass pickup at the bridge and a P-bass pickup at the neck, an Accu-cast fixed bridge, a plastic nut and Ibanez tuning machines. Controls consist of a master volume and a balancer on the front along with a master tone control on the rear cavity cover.
The MDB3 was discontinued after 2015 and replaced by the MDB4.
