The MC150 features neck through body construction with mahogany wings on a five-piece maple and walnut neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with pearloid dot position markers. Components include a pair of Ibanez Super 88 humbucking pickups mounted in integrated plastic covers with individual volume and tone controls, a Tune-o-matic style Gibraltar bridge with a Quik Change tailpiece, rubberized Sure Grip control knobs and Smooth Tuner machine heads.
For 1982, the pickups were replaced with Super 58s mounted in traditional plastic pickup rings, and push-push Duo Sound switches on the tone pots were added.
The MC350 is a related model with a sandwich body wing construction and other minor changes.
The MC150 was discontinued after 1982 along with the entire Musician series.
