The MAB4FM is a Soundgear series solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez for 1991. It was crafted by Master Luthier Tak Hosono for Hoshino USA as part of the American Master series.

The MAB4FM features neck-through-body construction on mahogany with flamed maple top attached to a maple and purplehearth neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot position markers. Components include an Accu-cast B-IV fixed bridge with 19mm string spacing, and a pair of EMG (P/J) pickup's channeled through an active preamp EQ, a plastic nut and gotoh tuning machines.

For 1992 the bridge was changed to a Wilkinson 4-string and the headstock was changed to a matching color..

The MAB4QM is a similar model with quilted maple top. The MAB5BE is a related five string model with bird's eye maple top.

The MAB4FM was discontinued after 1992.
