The M8M is an 8 string solid body electric guitar introduced by Ibanez in 2012. It's the initial signature model of Swedish guitarists Fredrik Thordendal and Mårten Hagström, known for their work with the progressive metal/ djent band Meshuggah. The M8M is built in Japan by Sugi with a shape based on the RG series.

The M8M features neck through body construction with alder wings mated to a maple and bubinga neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard that has a 29.4" scale and no inlays. Components include an FX Edge III-8 fixed bridge, a single passive/ceramic Lundgren M8 bridge pickup and Schaller security locks.

For 2019 the bubinga in the neck construction was replaced by jatoba, the rosewood fretboard was replaced with pau rosa and Sperzel tuners were added. For 2020 the fretboard was reverted to rosewood and the scale length was changed very slightly.

The M80M is a more affordable version of this model with a bolt-on neck which was released in 2014.
