The M700S is an F-style acoustic mandolin model introduced by Ibanez for 2015. It is produced in China.
The M700S features an F-style mandolin body constructed of a solid engraved Sitka spruce top with ƒ holes on solid engraved flame maple back and flamed maple sides with a high gloss finish. It has a maple neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with binding and ivoroid dot position markers. Components include a rosewood saddle on a rosewood bridge, a plastic nut, gold open gear tuning machines with pearl acrylic buttons, a rosewood pickguard with binding, and bronze strings.
For 2018 the rosewood fretboard bridge and saddle were replaced with purpleheart and the rosewood pickguard was replaced with ovangkol. For 2020 the body dimensions were changed. The body width was again increased very slightly for 2021.
The M522S is a related model without the engraved top and back and with block fretboard inlays.
