The M510 is an A-style acoustic mandolin model introduced by Ibanez in mid 2004. It is made in China.
The M510 features an A-style mandolin body constructed of a laminated spruce top with ƒ holes on laminated mahogany sides and back. It has a mahogany neck with a 20-fret rosewood fingerboard with binding and white dot position markers. Components include a rosewood saddle on a rosewood bridge, a plastic nut, chrome open gear tuning machines with pearl acrylic buttons, a black pickguard and bronze strings.
For 2010 the mahogany neck was changed to maple; it was reverted to mahogany for 2014. For 2015 the fretboard inlays changed from pearl to acrylic dot. For 2018 the rosewood fretboard, bridge and saddle were replaced with purpleheart, and the mahogany back and sides were replaced with sapele. For 2019 the neck was changed to okoume. For 2021 the body size was increased very slightly.
The M510E is an acoustic-electric version with a magnetic pickup. The M615 is a related model with a mahogany body.
