LACS16 - "BRONSON" Background
The nickname “Bronson” is a reference to Bronson Cave in Griffith park in L.A., a location where the 1960’s Batman show was filmed. Batman’s suit from that era shared the grey, black, and gold color scheme of this a guitar, so the LA team jumped at the opportunity to include a batman connection here, even if indirectly. When combined, these elements deliver outstanding visuals, excellent tone, and a fun back story for this one-of-a-kind, extended-range creation.
From top to bottom, this RG8 encapsulates every aspect of the instantly recognizable J Custom styling, but built on a one-off, extended-range foundation. Uncommon on an RG8, or even most j.Customs for that matter, this particular model features neck-thru construction, utilizing a Maple / Purpleheart neck and center block. Another iconic symbol of Ibanez design and a key element of J.Custom styling, this "Tree of Life" inlay was specially modified for this build to cover the larger width and longer scale length of the 8-string fingerboard.
The LACS16 - "BRONSON" features neck-through-body construction with mahogany body and flamed maple top attached to a 5 piece maple and purpleheart neck, with a rosewood fingerboard with 24 jumbo frets and Custom pearloid and maple Tree of Life inlays, luminlay side dots position markers and a matching headstock. Components are a DiMarzio Fusion Edge™ Humbucking pickups on the neck and a DiMarzio Fusion Edge™ Humbucking pickups on the bridge position, an Ibanez Gibraltar Standard II (fixed) bridge, gold hardware, Gotoh Magnum locking machine heads and includes hardshell case & certificate of authenticity.
