LACS10 - "RUBY" Background
The RG550FM harkens back to one of the most iconic and quintessential RGs in the history of Ibanez: the RG550. The LACS team felt strongly that it was critical to include a high-end representation of this important and historic model. The objective here was simple: celebrate the RG’s impact and influence on modern music, and this guitar unquestionably accomplished that feat. The design features neck-thru construction, a Flamed Maple top, Flamed Maple binding, a headstock volute and reverse shark tooth inlays. The intensity is amped up to another level with an electrifying Trans-Red finish cascading over an extraordinary Flamed Maple top. Its captivating and regal appearance is what lead the LA Custom Shop to choose the name “Ruby” for this guitar. This RG550FM is a true and honest homage to the original, a keystone of the contemporary guitar world that has inspired so many players, for so many years.
The LACS10 - "RUBY" features neck-through-body construction with mahogany body and ½” flamed maple top attached to a 3 piece maple and purpleheart neck, with rosewood fingerboard, 24 jumbo frets with reverse Pearloid Sharktooth and luminlay side dots inlays and a matching headstock. Components are a DiMarzio PAF Pro™ Humbucking pickups on the neck, a DiMarzio True Velvet™ single coil pickup in the middle position and a DiMarzio Super Distortion™ Humbucking pickups on the bridge position, an Edge double locking tremolo bridge, cosmo black hardware, a white pearloid pickguard, gotoh MB-500 machine heads and includes hardshell case & certificate of authenticity.
