The K series is a line of electric guitar and bass models manufactured for Hoshino Gakki and sold under the Ibanez brand. It is the signature series of guitarists James "Munky" Shaffer and Brian "Head" Welch and bassist Reginald "Fieldy" Arvizu of the American nu metal band Korn.

K guitar models[]

The K guitar models are basically a seven string RG series model, although they offer several unique features, including a mahogany body, custom DiMarzio pickups with simplified controls and, perhaps most notably, the signature U-bar tremolo. They also came factory tuned to Korn's signature tuning: A, D, G, C, F, A, D (low to high).

The K7 guitars were originally available in two finishes: Blade Gray (Brian "Head" Welch's model), and Firespeak Blue (James "Munky" Shaffer's model).

After Head parted ways with Korn in 2005, Ibanez replaced the K7 series with the new APEX series in 2007. These are linked to Munky only, however K7's can still be seen played by Munky and Head in several situations. Head also has his own signature in 2014, the KOMRAD20.

K bass models[]

The K bass models are five string basses which are derived from the Soundgear series.
