The KSAZ02 is an AZ series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 2020. It is a spot model offered exclusively by Japanese retailer Kurosawa Gakki which was produced in Japan by FujiGen as part of the upscale Prestige line.
The KSAZ02 features an alder body bolted to an S-Tech roasted maple oval C shaped neck with an S-Tech roasted maple fingerboard with 22 stainless steel frets, pearloid dot position markers, and Luminlay side dots. Components include Seymour Duncan Hyperion pickups with a humbucker at the bridge and single-coils in the neck and middle positions mounted in a white pearloid pickguard, a T1802 two-point synchronized tremolo bridge made by Gotoh, an oil-impregnated bone nut, an angled output jack, and Gotoh locking tuning machines with height-adjustable posts. This spot model figures a plain white color, pearloid pickguard and gold hardware. Because of this hardware color, titanium saddles had to be replaced by standard gold saddles.
The KSAZ02 employs a dyna-MIX9 switching system (see diagram below) with an "Alter switch" toggle which allows the user to access nine distinct tones. The Alter switch allows the player to access two modes with the single coils connected in series creating a tone similar to a second humbucker.
The AZ2204 is a similar regular production model with chrome hardware and titanium saddles. The KSAZ01 is a related model with a pair of direct-mounted humbucker pickups.
