The KIKOSP2 is a solid body electric guitar introduced by Ibanez in 2016. It is a Signature guitar of Brazilian guitarist Kiko Loureiro of the metal bands Angra and Megadeth. The KIKOSP2 was produced in China.
The KIKOSP2 is a mass-market version of Loureiro's other signature guitars, the Prestige-level KIKO100 and the Premium-level KIKO10P & KIKO10BP. It is based on the S series although it has a thicker body with a flat back and special relief on the lower horn in the rear. The body is poplar with an art grain stimulated flame top. The output jack is located on the side of the guitar rather than on the face like a typical S series guitar.
It has Ibanez Infinity R pickups with a pair of humbuckers flanking a single-coil. The maple neck has a 24-fret fingerboard with offset dot position markers and a special inlay at the 12th fret. The bridge is a standard double locking tremolo with a locking nut.
In mid-2017 a new fretboard material, treated New Zealand pine, replaced rosewood.[1]
The KIKOSP2 replaced the KIKOSP which is similar but has a synchronized tremolo.
The KIKOSP2 was discontinued after 2019.
