For a list of JBM models, see Portal:Jake Bowen series.

The Jake Bowen series is a line of solid body electric guitars produced by Ibanez for Jake Bowen, guitarist for the American progressive metal band Periphery.

History[]

The JBM line consists of four models as of 2020. All four are based on the arched-top super-Strat RGA body. The first three models are visually similar with a reversed headstock (they are the first production RGA models with this feature), black finish with black hardware except for the machine heads, which are gold. They all feature DiMarzio Titan pickups, a Floyd Rose-style tremolo and a simple control setup eschewing a tone control. The fourth model has a white finish and fixed bridge.

JBM100[]

The Prestige-level JBM100 was introduced in mid-2014. It has a mahogany body with a maple top and a black finish with dual DiMarzio Titan humbucking pickups and a Lo-Pro Edge double locking tremolo bridge. Controls consist only of a master volume knob and a 5-way pickup selector level. Another high-end feature of this model is the Sperzel Trim-Lok tuning machines.[1] The JBM100 was discontinued after 2020.

JBM20[]

The JBM20 was introduced in 2016. It is a more affordable mass-market version of the JBM100. Both models have the same body and finish, the same pickups and the same controls. Differences between the JBM20 and JBM100 include a 3-piece maple neck (instead of the JBM100's 3-piece maple and bubinga), a rosewood (rather than ebony) fingerboard, an Edge Zero II (rather than Lo-Pro Edge) tremolo and Gotoh (rather than Sperzel) locking tuners.[2] It was discontinued after 2017.

JBM27[]

The JBM27 was released in 2016 alongside the JBM20. It is a seven-string model with very similar features and components to the JBM20.

The JBM10FX was released in 2019. It is a mass-market six string model with a fixed bridge and a white finish with gold hardware.

JBM9999[]

The JBM9999 was released in mid-2022. It is a Japanese-made six string model with a fixed bridge and a matte blue finish.
