The JS6 is a JS series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 1992. It is a signature model of American guitarist Joe Satriani. It was made in Japan by FujiGen.
The JS6 was the first Satriani signature model with a hard tail bridge. It features a mahogany body bolted to a maple neck with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot position markers. Components include a pair of DiMarzio humbucking pickups mounted in metal pickup rings, a Gotoh GTC101 fixed bridge and Gotoh tuning machines.
The JS6 was discontinued after 1993. It was replaced by the very similar JS6000 which was introduced in 1994 along with a more affordable JS hard-tail, the JS600.
