The JS140 is a JS series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 2015. It is a signature model of American guitarist Joe Satriani. It was produced in Indonesia as an entry-level JS model.
The JS140 replaced the JS100 which was discontinued after the 2014 model year. Differences include a new neck with 24 frets and slightly tweaked dimensions, different pickups and a different tremolo bridge.
The JS140 features a basswood body bolted to a maple neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with dot position markers. Components include Ibanez pickups with a Quantum humbucker at the bridge and an Infinity RD single-coil sized humbucker at the neck and an Edge Zero II double locking tremolo bridge.
For 2018 the rosewood fretboard was replaced with jatoba.
The JS140 was discontinued after 2019 and replaced with the JS140M which has a maple fretboard but is otherwise similar.
