JPCS3 "WIND SHEAR" Transparent Blue (more images)

The JPCS3 "WIND SHEAR" is an S series solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez for 2022. It was crafted by the Japan Custom Shop in Nagoya as part of the 50th anniversary of Ibanez’s US-based distributor Hoshino U.S.A. Inc.

The JPCS3 is a One-off model which is sold exclusively by select Ibanez music retailers.

JPCS3 - "WIND SHEAR" build

This guitar is highly unique among the 50th Anniversary Collection in that it is built entirely from Flamed Maple. From the body to the neck and fingerboard, the viewer is treated to a panorama of stunning Flamed Maple figuring. A luxurious Transparent Blue finish covers the entirety of the instrument, even the fretboard. It’s a phenomenally stunning instrument and a true one-of-a-kind. Serving as both the functional and aesthetic highlight of this guitar, these weight relief cuts are hand-carved into the body and actually run through it, from the front to the back. They add some enticing visual complexity, while also taking what’s already a light instrument and scaling back its weight even further.

The JPCS3 - "WIND SHEAR" features a flamed maple top on a flamed maple body bolted to a flamed maple neck with a 24-fret flamed maple fingerboard with offset MOP dots and MOP side dots position markers. Components include a DiMarzio Air Norton humbuckers pickups on the neck position and a DiMarzio The Tone Zone humbuckers pickups in the bridge position, a Edge double locking tremolo bridge with a locking nut, and Gotoh tuning machines.
