The JPCS14 (also referred to as ASTERISK) is an AZ series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 2022. It was crafted by the Japan Custom Shop in Nagoya, Japan, as part of the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of Hoshino USA.
The JPCS14 features alder body bolted to an S-Tech roasted flamed maple neck with a titanium truss rod with adjustment wheel at the neck joint, a 22-fret Madagascar rosewood fingerboard with cream dot position markers and luminescent side dots, and a matching headstock with the Ibanez logo. Components include a Y.O.S. Smoggy pickups with a humbucker at the bridge and single-coils in the neck and middle positions mounted in a white pickguard, a Gotoh T1802 two-point synchronized tremolo bridge, and chrome Gotoh MG-T Locking tuning machines. A hardshell case and Certificate of Authenticity are included.
The JPCS15 is a similar model featuring a swamp ash body with a clear finish and a tortoiseshell pickguard. The JPCS13 is a related model with a swamp ash body and a different pickup configuration.
Only a single example was produced and it was sold by Ish guitars in Syracuse, New York.[1]
