JPCS13 "THE OLD GUARD" with Nitrocellulose finish (more images)
The JPCS13 (also referred to as THE OLD GUARD) is an AZ series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 2022. It was crafted by the Japan Custom Shop in Nagoya as part of the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of Hoshino USA.
The JPCS13 features a swamp ash body with a nitrocellulose finish bolted to an S-Tech roasted flamed maple neck with a 22-fret S-Tech roasted flamed maple fingerboard with black dot position markers and Luminlay side dots, and a matching headstock with the Ibanez logo. Components include a trio of Y.O.S. Smoggy single coil pickups mounted in a white pickguard, a Gotoh T1802 two-point synchronized tremolo bridge, and chrome Gotoh MG-T Locking tuning machines. A hardshell case and Certificate of Authenticity are included.
The truss rod uses a wheel-type adjuster at the neck joint by the neck pickup — most other AZ models have truss rod adjustment done at the headstock end.
The JPCS15 is a similar model with a humbucking pickup at the bridge. The JPCS14 is a related model with an alder body and a humbucker at the bridge.
Only a single example was produced and it was sold by Bill's Music House in Catonsville, Maryland.[1]
