The JCSR2501 is a five-string Soundgear series solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez in mid 2025. It was first exhibited as an exclusive model at Ibanez Guitar Festival 2025 in Germany [1]. It was crafted in Japan by the Custom Shop as part of the high-end J Custom line.
The JCSR2501 features a double-cutaway ash body with chestnut burl top with purple resin bolted to a wenge and purpleheart SR5 neck with a 24-fret ebony fingerboard fingerboard with mother of pearl and abalone oval position markers. Components include a pair of Bartolini Custom 5-string passive pickups with wood covers routed through an Ibanez Custom Electronics preamp with 3-band EQ with adjustable mid-frequency crossover point and a bypass switch, an MR5S bridge with 16.5mm string spacing, a GraphTech Black TUSQ nut, gold hardware and Gotoh tuning machines.
