The JCSR2023 is a limited edition five-string Soundgear series solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez for 2023. It was produced in Japan by Sugi as part of the high-end J Custom series line. It was introduced at the NAMM show on April 13, 2023.[1]
The JCSR2023 features a maple burl top on a double-cutaway Honduran mahogany body with bolted to a maple and purpleheart neck with a matching headstock and a 24-fret wenge fingerboard with mother of pearl & abalone oval position markers. Components include a pair of Nordstrand Big Single 5 passive pickups with wood covers routed through an Ibanez Custom Electronics preamp with 3-band EQ with adjustable mid-frequency crossover point and a bypass switch, individually mounted Mono-rail Vs bridges with adjustable 16.5mm string spacing, a GraphTech Black TUSQ nut, gold hardware and Gotoh tuning machines.
The JCSR2023 finish was inspired by landscapes of Yosemite National Park. Production was limited to just six units.
