The JCSR2021 is a five string Soundgear series solid body electric bass model introduced by Ibanez for 2021. It was made in Japan by Sugi as part of the handcrafted J Custom line.
The JCSR2021 features a buckeye burl top with voids filled with blue resin on a double-cutaway swamp ash body bolted to a wenge and purpleheart Atlas HP neck with a 24-fret wenge fingerboard with mother of pearl and abalone oval position markers. Components include a pair of Bartolini Custom BH2 soapbar passive pickups with an Ibanez custom preamp with a three-band EQ, Mono-rail bridges with 16.5mm string spacing, a GraphTech Black TUSQ nut and Gotoh tuning machines.
The JCSR2021 becomes just the fourth bass in the J Custom series and the first offered since 1998. It was produced only in 2021.
