The JCS12FM is an S series solid body electric guitar model offered by Ibanez in 2012. It was made in Japan by Sugi as part of the high-end J Custom line.
The JCS12FM features neck-through-body construction with African mahogany wings under a flamed maple top mated to a mahogany and bubinga Wizard neck with a 22-fret bound ebony fingerboard with offset abalone dot position markers. Components include DiMarzio pickups with two humbuckers flanking a single-coil, an Edge Zero double locking tremolo bridge with a removable zero-point system tuning stabilizer, a locking nut, Gotoh locking strap pins and Gotoh tuning machines.
The headstock has a 2mm thick flamed maple top which is finished to match the body and bound. The serial number is hand-written on the back of the headstock using pure sterling silver ink. The 22 frets are a callback to the original S series models; contemporary models all have 24 frets.
The JCS12QM is a similar model with a quilted maple top.
