The JCRG1901 is an RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 2019. It was crafted in Japan by Sugi as part of the high-end J Custom line. The JCRG1901 is a spot model which is sold exclusively by select Japanese music retailers.
The JCRG1901 features a 4mm thick exotic maple top on a slightly smaller (98% normal size) RG body of Honduran mahogany bolted to a roasted maple and African mahogany neck which is also slightly shorter than the typical RG neck with a 24¾" scale. The neck has an ebony fingerboard with 24 stainless steel frets with hemispherical fret end treatment and white pearl dot position markers. The headstock has the same exotic maple veneer the top. Components include a pair of Bare Knuckle True Grit humbucking pickups, a Lo-Pro Edge double locking tremolo bridge, recessed Easy Access control knobs, Gotoh tuning machines and Gotoh Free-Lock II strap pins.
Other similarly downsized RG models include the JCRG11M, JCRG11R, JCRG1403, JCRG16C01, JCRG1701 and AKJCRG70th.
The JCRG1902 is another special J. Custom for 2019 which is similarly downsized, however it has a tune-o-matic style fixed bridge and a Hawaiian koa top impregnated with blue resin. The JCRG1903 is a related, full-sized, limited, J Custom RG model offered in 2019.
The JCRG1901 was offered only in 2019.
