The JCRG16C01 is an RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez for 2016. It was crafted in Japan by Sugi as part of the high-end J Custom line. The JCRG16C01 is a spot model which is sold exclusively by Japanese music retailer Ikebe Gakki.
The JCRG16C01 features a slightly smaller (98% normal size) RG body with a strip of maple down the center with Honduran mahogany wings and a spalted maple top. The maple and wenge neck is also slightly shorter than the typical RG neck with a 24¾" scale. The neck has a 24-fret ebony fretboard with binding and offset dot position markers and a headstock which matches the top. The fretboard is much more rounded than the typical RG with a 250mm (~10") radius. The frets are medium/jumbo size. The neck is attached with a slightly thicker than typical All Access neck joint.
Components include dual custom humbucking pickups, an Edge double locking tremolo bridge, recessed Easy Access control knobs and locking nut.
Other downsized RG models include the JCRG11M, JCRG11R, JCRG1403, JCRG1701 and JCRG1901.
It's believed that as few as three examples of this model were produced.[1]
