The JCRG1404 is an RG series solid body electric guitar model offered by Ibanez in 2014. It was made in Japan by Sugi as part of the high-end J Custom line. It was introduced at the 2014 Gakki Fair.
The JCRG1404 features an African mahogany body with an exotic maple top bolted to a maple and bubinga neck with a 24-fret maple fingerboard with offset abalone dot position markers. Components include DiMarzio pickups with two humbuckers flanking a single-coil, an original Edge double locking tremolo bridge, a locking nut, Gotoh locking strap pins and Gotoh tuning machines.
The neck is attached to the body with a retro-style tilt-joint with a stainless steel plate. The headstock has a 2mm thick exotic maple top which is finished to match the body. The serial number is hand printed on the back of the headstock.
The JCRG1404 was offered only in 2014 with only a small number of each finish (likely 12 or fewer of each) was produced.
