The JCRG-SS is an RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 1997. It was made in Japan by FujiGen as part of the high end J Custom line. The JCRG-SS was a spot model available only through select Japanese retailers. It is also known as the JCRG-Swimsuit or just the RG-Swimsuit.
The most striking feature of the JCRG-SS is the painted swimsuit design which wraps around the entire guitar. There are seven swimsuit designs each with just one or two examples produced.
The JCRG-SS features a mahogany body bolted to a maple neck with a 24-fret ebony fingerboard with offset abalone dot position markers at the twelfth fret. Components include DiMarzio pickups with a pair of humbuckers flanking a single-coil, a Lo-Pro Edge double locking tremolo bridge with a locking nut and Gotoh tuning machines.
