As a wiki, all content on this site is generated by users. If you have something to add to the site, please feel free to do so.

The main focus of the site is solid body electric guitars sold by Ibanez since 1978; this area is covered comprehensively. Nearly complete coverage of hollow and semi-hollow body electric guitars also extends back through 1978. We are beginning to expand the scope to encompass every Ibanez instrument including basses and acoustics but coverage of these instrument types is available for only the past couple of years. Our intention is to extend this coverage as time allows. Eventually we'd love for the site to cover all things Ibanez, not only instruments, but also amps, electronics, and accessories, but non-instrument coverage is on the back burner for now.

If you are interested in helping the site grow, we would welcome and greatly appreciate your assistance. The Project portal is a great place to get started. If you have a question, try the FAQ or submit your own question here. If you want to interact with others in the community, check out the forum.

Wiki reaches 10,000 page milestone!

As I logged in this morning, I noticed that the wiki had reached a milestone: it now includes 10,000 pages of information!

Although number of pages isn't everything, this is a pretty big accomplishment. The site contained fewer than 1,000 pages of information when I became involved and "adopted" the wiki which had been abandoned by its founder, so this represents a greater than tenfold increase in scope since that time.

Credit for reaching this point is shared with all of those who've contributed their time and expertise (all on a 100% volunteer basis) to expand the site. Significantly, I'd lik…

Initial 2023 wiki updates are complete

The documentation of the initial batch of 2023 models and changes has been completed. The current tally for 2023 stands at 548 models, 37 of which are new and 38 of which are updated for the new model year. In addition new finishes are offered on at least 13 more models.

This year brought no major, wholesale changes to the lineup. The only new series added is the FRH series which is a new acoustic line based loosely on the Telecaster-inspired FR series solid-body models and teased late last year with Tim Henson's signature TOD10N.

The biggest retirements for 2023 include the AX guitar series and …

2022 mid-year models are live

Over the last few weeks we've been putting the finishing touches on the 2022 mid-year models. While there's no doubt a few additional spot models will probably appear between now and the end of the year, we can be confident that the vast bulk of the 2022 models have now been captured.

For full details, see the 2022 portal.

Wiki updated for 2021

This morning I completed the task of updating the wiki for the 2021 models. This includes every stringed instrument sold by Ibanez: solid body electric guitars and basses, semi-hollow and hollow body electric guitars and basses, acoustic guitars and bass guitars, classical guitars, piccolo guitars, ukuleles, mandolins and banjos.

The 2021 lineup as of this moment consists of 539 models. Of these 70 are new for 2021 and 137 others have some changes from the previous year. 151 models were not carried over from 2020.

Check out the entire lineup in the 2021 Portal.

Wiki updated for 2020

This afternoon I completed the initial sweep of 2020 models from existing catalogs and the Ibanez website. This effort includes all Ibanez instruments including solid body and hollow body guitars and basses, acoustic and acoustic/ electric guitars and basses, piccolo guitars, ukuleles, mandolins and banjos. As of now we have a total of 546 2020 instruments documented.

Next steps will include double-checking the website as well as scouring retailer sites to make sure we capture all the spot models. I'll also do a check against the 2019 models to ensure nothing inadvertently got dropped.

Please take …

Wiki rules
Below is the basic set of rules to guide editors of this wiki:

  1. Keep it civil: Do not make personal attacks on other people. If you need to criticize another user’s argument, do so without attacking them as a person. Do not use bigoted language, including slurs which degrade another person or group of people based on gender, race, sexual orientation, nationality, religion, etc.
  2. Be a productive member of the wiki: Contribute to the wiki in line with the established processes and conventions. Need help? Ask an administrator! Disrupting the wiki with “edit warring” over differing opinions of a topic with another user or group of users is not productive.
  3. Do not engage in excessive self-promotion: The wiki is a collaborative community resource for the topic at hand. It is NOT a free place to advertise your related website, YouTube channel, blog, social media account, etc. Have a question about whether your link would be welcome? Ask an administrator!
  4. Do not harass other users: If somebody asks you to stop posting certain content on their wall, respect their wishes. It is their wall.
  5. Do follow community guidelines for formatting: When a community has established formatting, it’s important to adhere to that, especially when spoiler content is involved.
