The IRG8470Z is an RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 2008. It was made in Japan by FujiGen as part of the high-end J Custom line. It is based on the RG8470Z, but with three special finishes.
The IRG8470Z features a mahogany body with a flamed maple top bolted to a maple and walnut neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with flamed maple binding and tree of life inlays. Components include DiMarzio pickups with two humbuckers flanking a single-coil, an Edge Zero double locking tremolo bridge with a removable ZPS3 tuning stabilizer and a locking nut, and Gotoh tuning machines.
The IRG8470Z was a spot model which was produced in very small numbers (perhaps as few as 6 were made) and was sold exclusively by the Ishibashi musical instrument stores in Japan. It was offered only in 2008.
