The IJCRG80th5 is an RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in late 2019. It is made in Japan by FujiGen as part of the high-end J Custom line. This is one of five distinct J Custom spot models produced to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Japanese retailer Ishibashi Music.
The IJCRG80th5 features a poplar burl top with faux binding on an ash body bolted to a wenge and walnut Super Wizard neck with a Velvetouch finish and a 24-fret selected striped ebony fingerboard with pearl and abalone Tree of Life vine inlays . Components include a Lo-Pro Edge double locking tremolo bridge, DiMarzio pickups with Air Norton and The Tone Zone humbuckers flanking a True Velvet single-coil, recessed Easy Access control knobs, Gotoh locking strap buttons and Gotoh tuning machines.
The IJCRG80th1 is a similar model with a tochu top which is also made by FujiGen. The other three models in the collection were made by Sugi — the IJCRG80th2 has blue resin in the top and different pickups; the IJCRG80th3 has a buckeye burl top, white ebony fretboard and different pickups; and the IJCRG80th4 has a burl maple top neck through body construction.
A certificate of authenticity is included with each guitar. Production was limited to 6 examples.
