The IJCRG80th4 is an RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 2019. It is made in Japan by Sugi as part of the high-end J Custom line. This is one of five distinct J Custom spot models produced to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Japanese retailer Ishibashi Music.
The IJCRG80th4 features neck through body construction with an exotic burl maple top with faux binding on ash body wings mated to a maple and purpleheart asymmetric Super Wizard neck with a Velvetouch finish and an ebony fingerboard with pearl and abalone Tree of Life vine inlays and 24 stainless steel frets. Components include a Lo-Pro Edge double locking tremolo bridge, DiMarzio pickups with a pair of Fusion Edge humbuckers flanking a True Velvet single-coil, recessed Easy Access control knobs, Gotoh locking strap buttons and Gotoh tuning machines.
The IJCRG80th2 and IJCRG80th3 are similar models with resin impregnated tops, bolt-on necks and different pickups. Both of these are also made by Sugi. The IJCRG80th1 and IJCRG80th5 are related models with, respectively, tochu top. The IJCRG80th5 is a similar model with a poplar burl top and different pickups. The latter two models are made by FujiGen.
A certificate of authenticity is included with each guitar. Only a single example was produced in each of the two finishes.
