The IJCRG80th2 is an RG series solid body electric guitar model introduced by Ibanez in 2019. It is made in Japan by Sugi as part of the high-end J Custom line. This is one of five distinct J Custom spot models produced to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Japanese retailer Ishibashi Music.
The IJCRG80th2 features a buckeye burl top in which the voids have been filled with blue resin on a swamp ash body bolted to a wenge and purpleheart Wizard neck with a Velvetouch finish and a selected white ebony fingerboard with pearl and abalone Tree of Life vine inlays. Components include a Lo-Pro Edge double locking tremolo bridge, DiMarzio pickups with Air Norton and Tone Zone humbuckers flanking a True Velvet single-coil all with cream bobbins, recessed Easy Access control knobs, Gotoh locking strap buttons and Gotoh tuning machines.
The IJCRG80th3 is a very similar model with purple resin in the top. The IJCRG80th4 is a related model with neck through body construction, a burl maple top, ebony fingerboard and different pickups. Both of these are also produced by Sugi. The IJCRG80th1 and IJCRG80th5 are related models with, respectively, tochu and poplar burl tops which are made by FujiGen.
A certificate of authenticity is included with each guitar. Only two examples of this model were produced.
