The Ibanez E-Gen series is a series of electric guitar models manufactured by Hoshino Gakki and is the signature series of guitarist Herman Li, known for his work primarily with Dragonforce.
The E-Gen series was introduced in 2008 with the EGEN18. The second model is the EGEN8, a more affordable version of the EGEN18, introduced in 2010. The E-Gen models are based on the Ibanez S model but feature a number of model specific features, including the Kung Fu Grip on the upper horn.
Before the introduction of the E-Gen series, Herman Li had been known to play Ibanez S guitars, including custom 24-fret models and old 540S and S470 models.
